Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating certain 2025-2026 Polaris RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar and RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar vehicles for issues relating to electrical system failures that may pose a fire hazard.

Polaris RangerRANGER XP 1000 Owners Report Sparking, Smoke, Melting, and Fire

Owners of 2025-2026 Polaris RANGER XP 1000 NorthStar and RANGER CREW XP 1000 NorthStar vehicles have reported sparking, smoke, and melting around the vehicle's wiring and battery area. Polaris has identified five reports involving these conditions and one report of fire associated with the issue. The affected wiring may become damaged and create an electrical short, potentially resulting in a vehicle fire and posing a risk of serious injury.

Polaris Fails to Remedy

Many owners of affected RANGER XP 1000 vehicles may be required to take additional steps before the safety issue can be resolved. Polaris instructs owners to determine whether their vehicle is affected by the recall and, depending on the vehicle, may require them to follow specific operating and inspection instructions or contact an authorized dealer to schedule a repair. Until the issue is addressed, owners may be instructed to stop using their vehicles or take precautions to reduce the risk of fire. The recall also places the burden on owners to determine whether their vehicle requires service and arrange an appointment with a dealer. As a result, owners may remain exposed to the alleged electrical defect and without normal use of their vehicles while waiting for Polaris to evaluate their vehicle and complete the necessary repair.
