Jeep Grand Cherokee owners have reported rear coil springs becoming detached or dislodged from their vehicles, including while driving and while the vehicles were parked. Some owners report that the issue occurred after their vehicles had previously received repairs under earlier rear coil spring recalls, including reports of the spring detaching again after the repair. Other owners report loud noises, abnormal rear ride height, and springs coming loose without warning, with some incidents occurring at highway speeds.

Jeep Fails To Remedy

NHTSA opened an investigation after receiving reports that the springs detached even after the earlier repair had been completed.
