Volkswagen and Audi Steering Rack Bolt Defect

Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating certain 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, 2018-2019 Volkswagen Atlas, and 2019-2021 Audi Q3 vehicles for issues relating to a potentially defective steering rack mounting bolt. The bolt may corrode and break, which can cause the steering rack housing to break and result in a loss of steering control.

Volkswagen and Audi Owners Report Steering Noise, Wobbling, and Rack Failures

Owners of affected Volkswagen vehicles have reported clacking, popping, and creaking noises while turning, along with steering wheel vibration, wobbling, and a feeling that the steering has become loose. Some owners report that these issues have required replacement of the steering rack or other steering system components, with some describing significant repair costs and concerns about safely operating the vehicle.

Volkswagen and Audi Fail To Remedy

Some Volkswagen and Audi owners have reported bringing their vehicles to dealerships and repair shops after experiencing steering noise, vibration, looseness, and other steering-related issues.
