Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Bun toys (packaged in plastic bamboo-steamer containers) for critical safety defects and violations of federal toy safety standards. Over 15,000 of these popular sensory stress toys contain superabsorbent water beads that rupture or leak from the thin outer membrane. When swallowed by infants or young children, these beads expand substantially inside the digestive tract, creating life-threatening choking, bowel obstruction, and internal injury hazards.

Parents Report Rupturing Outer Shells and Expanding Bead Hazards

Marketed online through Amazon and specialty third-party retailers nationwide, these sensory dumpling toys feature translucent silicone or rubber outer skins filled with glitter and expanding polymer water beads. Parents and caregivers report that the outer shells easily puncture, tear, or burst during ordinary squeezing and play, instantly spilling dozens of clear, gel-like water beads into carpets, playrooms, and cribs. Because water beads expand drastically when exposed to bodily fluids, accidental ingestion can quickly lead to severe vomiting, dehydration, painful intestinal blockages, surgical interventions, and lethal poisoning hazards.

Federal Recalls Confirm Safety Violations and Ingestion Dangers

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) announced multiple recalls and safety warnings (including Recall Nos. 26-737 and 26-738) involving GIHNJSI Squeezy Dumplings and Rainbow Mystery Squishy Buns after testing revealed that the internal beads expand significantly beyond legally allowable limits set by mandatory federal safety standards.
