DREO Ceramic Space Heater Fire & Burn Hazard Defect

Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating Dreo Technology USA Inc. regarding approximately 338,000 Dreo ceramic space heaters (Model No. DR-HSH015) sold nationwide for critical electrical and thermal defects. Internal heating element and circuit board failures cause the space heaters to unexpectedly overheat, melt, and ignite during standard operation, creating severe fire, property damage, and burn injury hazards.

Consumers Report Overheating, Sparks, and Unexpected Fires

Dreo portable ceramic space heaters are designed to provide rapid supplemental warmth for indoor living spaces, bedrooms, and offices. However, reports submitted to federal safety regulators at the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) detail alarming incidents where units suffered thermal runaway, melting plastic housings, sparking, and electrical fires. These unexpected heating failures expose consumers and families to severe burn injuries, smoke inhalation, and catastrophic residential fires.

CPSC Issues Urgent Recall and Stop-Use Warning

Federal regulators announced an official safety recall (CPSC Recall No. 27-029) covering hundreds of thousands of Dreo DR-HSH015 ceramic space heaters. Although Dreo has instructed consumers to immediately stop using the heaters,unplug them, cut the power cords, and submit photographic proof for free replacements, many consumers face unexpected replacement costs or uncompensated property damage. We are investigating whether Dreo manufactured, marketed, and sold these space heaters with inadequate thermal cutoff fail-safes and without timely consumer protection remedies.
