Kalorik MAXX Air Fryer Ovens French Door Burn Hazard

Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating Kalorik MAXX and MAXX Advance Air Fryer Ovens with French Doors for severe safety defects involving spring-loaded door mechanisms. A mechanical defect causes the glass French doors to suddenly slam shut on consumers' hands and arms while the unit is operating at high temperatures, causing severe contact burns, blistered skin, and permanent scarring.

Kalorik MAXXConsumers Suffer Second-Degree Burns and Scarring as French Doors Slam Shut

These countertop air fryer ovens feature spring-loaded bilateral glass French doors. However, reports submitted to federal safety regulators reveal that the door tension hinges fail to stay open securely when consumers reach inside to insert or remove hot cooking trays. The hot, metal-framed doors unexpectedly snap closed onto exposed wrists and arms, resulting in painful second-degree burns, traumatic scarring, and emergency medical visits.

Manufacturers Refuse Recall as CPSC Issues Urgent Public Warning

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) issued an urgent public warning (CPSC Warning No. 27-033) advising consumers to immediately stop using these appliances due to dozens of reported burn injuries. The original importers, Team International Group of America, Inc. and Kalorik, LLC, went out of business, while the current brand owner, The Legacy Companies, LLC, has explicitly declined to conduct a voluntary recall or compensate affected consumers. Because the manufacturers have refused accountability, federal regulators urge consumers to dispose of the defective ovens following local hazardous waste rules. We are investigating whether Kalorik entities manufactured, imported, and sold these air fryer ovens with knowledge of dangerous door hinge mechanisms, leaving consumers with uncompensated burn injuries and product losses.
