The reported battery issues may present significant safety risks, including internal short circuits, potential loss of drive power, and an increased risk of fire.

Lincoln Fails to Remedy

Consumers warned about battery problems may be left to address the issue themselves rather than receiving a definitive remedy for the high-voltage battery defect. Although some Lincoln dealerships have informed their customers that a solution will be available by the end of September, the current defect leaves thousands of owners unable to fully charge their vehicles due to the risk of fire and forces them to rely on the gasoline engine instead. Owners may still face uncertainty regarding whether the software fix to monitor the battery will permanently resolve the issue, particularly if the same component remains susceptible to failure.
