Pit Boss Unintended Activation Defect

Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating Pit Boss pellet grills for issues relating to unintended activation. These issues may cause the grills to turn on, begin heating or smoking, or activate components such as the blower or igniter without the consumer intentionally starting the grill.

Pit Boss Owners Report Grills Turning On Unexpectedly

Pit Boss owners have reported discovering their pellet grills running despite not having recently used or intentionally started them. Some consumers report finding their grills operating at high temperatures, including around 180°F, while covered or during the night. Others report that the grills have turned on more than once without user input, leading some owners to keep their units unplugged when not in use.

Pit Boss Fails to Remedy

Pit Boss has attempted to address reports of unexpected activation by providing troubleshooting assistance and replacement control boards or other electronic components. However, consumers have reported that these repairs or replacements do not always permanently resolve the issue, with unexpected activation returning after the grill has been serviced. In some instances, additional repairs or replacement components have been required to address the recurring problem.
