Owners Report Charging Restrictions, Range Loss, and Outdoor Parking Warnings

Mercedes-Benz has issued safety recalls and interim instructions advising EQB owners to park their vehicles outside and away from homes or structures, and to restrict charging to a maximum of 80% capacity. These warnings significantly restrict vehicle utility, force drivers to lose up to 20% of their advertised driving range, and prevent owners from safely parking or charging inside residential garages. In some instances, drivers have experienced high-voltage battery warning indicators or sudden electrical shutdowns.

Repeated Failed Software Remedies and Extended Repair Delays

Previous software updates deployed by Mercedes-Benz failed to prevent battery fires, forcing the manufacturer to order full high-voltage battery pack replacements across nearly 12,000 recalled vehicles. However, owners face extensive delays, backordered battery packs, and long periods where their vehicles sit at dealerships or remain unsafe to operate at full capacity. Despite these known defects, many owners continue making payments on compromised luxury electric vehicles that have suffered substantial diminished market value.
