Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating the 2022-2026 Lucid Air for issues relating to overheating exterior lighting circuits. This issue may cause wiring and lighting components to overheat and melt, potentially resulting in a fire and loss of exterior lighting.

Lucid Air Exterior Lighting Defect

Lucid Air Owners Report Smoke and Lighting Failures

Lucid Air owners have reported experiencing smoke, damaged components, and problems with their vehicles' headlights, taillights, and brake lights. Some owners describe intermittent lighting problems or complete loss of certain lights, while others report visible damage around the lighting components or wiring. These issues have resulted in complaints of damaged wiring and loss of exterior lighting in the vehicles.

Lucid Fails To Remedy

Some Lucid Air owners have experienced difficulties obtaining the software update intended to address the exterior lighting issue. In some cases, the update has reportedly failed to install, while other vehicles have remained on earlier software versions despite receiving notifications instructing them to park outside until the recall was remedied. Some customers have had to contact Lucid or visit a service center to have the update pushed to their vehicles. As a result, affected vehicles may remain subject to Lucid's warning to park outside and away from structures until the remedy is completed.
