Model Y 2021-2023 Owners Report Sudden Loss of Control

Tesla owners report the front lower suspension link detaching or fracturing without warning, causing the vehicle to pull sharply to one side or lose steering precision. Some owners describe hearing a loud clunk or bang from the front wheel immediately before the handling issue began, with no prior collision, pothole strike, or curb impact to explain it.

Tesla’s Failure to Provide a Remedy

Many owners have brought their vehicles to Tesla service centers seeking an explanation and a permanent fix, only to be told the damage resulted from road hazards or driving conditions, despite no evidence supporting that conclusion. In some cases, Tesla has covered the suspension repair under warranty, while in others, owners have reported being asked to pay out of pocket for a repair that may recur. Currently a recall has not been issued to fix this particular issue.
