Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating certain 2018–2025 Volkswagen Jetta vehicles for issues relating to persistent Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, and infotainment connectivity failures. The defect stems from software and hardware integration issues within Volkswagen’s MIB infotainment head units and USB interface ports, causing smartphone integration features to repeatedly disconnect, freeze, reboot, or refuse to establish a connection entirely.

Owners of 2019–2024 Volkswagen Jetta models report widespread malfunctions where Apple CarPlay and App-Connect abruptly drop connection during navigation, phone calls, or music playback. In many instances, the infotainment display freezes completely, reboots in continuous loops, or produces error messages such as "App-Connect Not Available" or "Device Not Supported"—even when using certified OEM cables or supported wireless setups. These frequent interruptions force drivers to manually troubleshoot screens while driving, creating dangerous visual and manual distractions and disabling essential hands-free communication and GPS directions.

Dealership Software Updates Fail to Provide a Permanent Solution

Many drivers report bringing their Jetta to authorized Volkswagen dealerships multiple times for diagnostics, only to be told that the issue could not be duplicated, that it was caused by Apple/third-party phone software, or to receive minor infotainment software patches that fail to fix the underlying hardware and firmware defect. Despite widespread consumer complaints, Volkswagen has failed to issue a comprehensive safety recall or offer an effective permanent fix, leaving owners with compromised technology and diminished vehicle value.
