Chrysler Pacifica Auto Advance ’n Return Power Seat Defect

Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating 2016–2023 Chrysler Pacifica and Chrysler Voyager minivans equipped with the "Stow ’n Go" seating system for issues relating to defective "Auto Advance ’n Return" power front seats. The defect causes front driver and passenger seats to unexpectedly malfunction, seize up, or move uncontrollably, frequently trapping front-row occupants against the steering wheel or dashboard, or crushing passengers seated in the second row.

Pacifica Owners Report Uncontrolled Seat Movement and Severe Safety Hazards

Owners report that when operating the one-touch Auto Advance ’n Return button to fold the middle seats into the floor, the power front seat often fails to stop, resets unexpectedly, or becomes completely stuck in extreme forward or reclined positions. Drivers describe harrowing situations where the seat abruptly drives the driver forward into the steering wheel while driving or parked, creating severe entrapment and collision hazards. In other cases, the seat forcefully drives backward, posing serious crushing and pinching risks to children or adults seated in the second row.

Chrysler Refuses to Provide a Permanent Solution

Despite hundreds of safety complaints filed with NHTSA and pervasive consumer reports, FCA US / Stellantis has failed to issue a safety recall or provide a reliable remedy. Dealerships routinely charge owners thousands of dollars out of pocket to replace seat track assemblies, position sensors, and control modules, only for the replacement parts to suffer the exact same malfunction shortly afterward. In many cases, dealers simply disconnect the seat wiring, permanently stripping owners of the premium power seating and convenience features they paid for.
