YETI 3000X owners have reported problems including overheating, smoke, charging failures, and other unusual power-related issues. Goal Zero has received reports of units that overheated, smoked, or caught fire, while other owners have described recurring charging problems, including units that stop charging, intermittently resume charging, or require resets to resume normal operation. Owners have also reported other malfunctions involving the unit’s power and software functions, raising concerns about the reliability and safe operation of the power station.

Goal Zero Fails to Remedy

Although Many YETI 3000X owners have reported experiencing problems with their power stations, while Goal Zero’s remedy is limited to a firmware update rather than providing a refund or other form of compensation. The company instructs consumers to stop using affected units and install the update to address the fire hazard, but owners whose units are outside the limited warranty period may not have coverage for repairs or other relief. As a result, consumers may be left with a power station identified as presenting a fire hazard without an option to receive a refund or a new unit.
