Hyundai Palisade Shattered Sunroof Defect
Scott Hirsch Law Group PLLC is currently investigating the 2024-2025 Hyundai Palisade for issues relating to the sunroof glass spontaneously shattering. This issue affects vehicles equipped with the factory panoramic sunroof, and appears to occur both while the vehicle is parked and while it is being driven.
Palisade Owners Report Sudden, Unexplained Shattering
Hyundai Palisade owners report their panoramic sunroof glass shattering without prior notice, in some cases even while the vehicle is parked and unoccupied, and in other cases while it is being driven at highway speed.
Owners describe hearing a loud bang followed by a spray of shattered glass into the cabin, with no apparent impact, debris strike, or external cause. Some owners report this occurring more than once on the same vehicle, even after the glass panel was replaced.
Hyundai Fails To Provide a Remedy
Many owners have brought their vehicles to Hyundai dealerships seeking an explanation and a permanent fix, only to be told that the damage resulted from road debris or an outside impact, despite no evidence supporting that conclusion. In some cases, Hyundai has covered the glass replacement under warranty, while in others, owners have reported being asked to pay out of pocket for a repair that may recur. We currently have no knowledge of any safety recalls issued to fix this particular issue.
